Kent Area Reception at Party Conference

In my spare time I am also a co-opted member of the Kent Area Executive, where I have responsibility for Special Events, Training and Best Practice.  It is in this role that I am organising the Kent Area Reception at the 2013 Conservative Party Conference in Manchester.

This year's event will be at the 'boutique' Abode Hotel in Piccadilly on Monday 30 September 2013 starting at 4pm.  This popular event allows Kent members an opportunity to network with other local activists, make new friends and contacts and meet our county's Members of Parliament, many of whom have already confirmed their attendance.

I suspect there might also be a few parliamentary aspirants, discreetly checking name badges before deciding how much attention to pay to you!  Perhaps we should all leave our conference passes in our pockets and watch them panic as they realise they have to be charming and attentive to everyone, just in case!

I am also pleased to report that we have a few special guests attending, including the Chairman of Conference. Charles Heslop, and Vice President Steve Bell (who allegedly will go to the opening of a sewer if there is a free drink).

Space is limited, and at the time of writing over half the available tickets have been reserved. If you would like to attend, please print off the application form below and send it to me at 91 High Street, West Malling ME19 6NA along with your cheque for £17.50 (payable to Kent Area Conservatives). If you cannot print off the form, simply send a cheque with covering note. Friends from neighbouring areas are also very welcome to attend.

Unfortunately, following an incident two years ago when 8 people booked late and promised to pay on the day (and subsequently didn't turn up, leaving us with a £120 shortfall) we will be closing the list the week prior to conference. Anyone who has not paid at this point will not be able to attend.
